2014 Better Bring It’s A Game!

Today is the final day of 2013, and while I still have a midnight 5K tonight, I wanted to let 2014 know that…

Bitch

It’s that time again. No, not for resolutions. No, I’m not one of those people who promise to do something and after 2 months stop and never work toward it again cause it was too hard and too time consuming.

I do, however, make goals. (Check out this post I wrote back in May about setting realistic and achievable goals.)

Right now you are asking yourself, “Whats the difference between a goal and a resolution?” Well, here is the answer, according to Examiner.Com.

A resolution is a fact. It’s a “formal expression of opinion or intention”. It’s a resolve or determination to do something. Yes, that is the dictionary definition. It’s an absolute. You are going to do “this”.

A goal is also a fact. It’s the “result or achievement toward which effort is directed. Aim. End.” A goal is something you strive for, you achieve to accomplish something. You see the end result and you make steps to get there.

For me, I’d rather set goals because even if I don’t reach them exactly, I know I will get closer to them. And that does not equate to failure.

racingRACING

  • Since I joined the 14 in 2014 Challenge, I will be completing 14 races next year.

  • Renew CPR certification.
  • Complete my MS in Sports and Health Sciences. (classes start on January 6th)

  • Work at least 10 hours per week teaching Group Fitness classes.

I’m going to spend some time this week tearing these goals apart and outlining them in more detail…but as you can see, this is gonna be a helluva year!

Now you tell me, what are your goals for 2014? Where do you see yourself 12 months from now?
