Workout of the Week # 43

Workout of the Week

Hey gang! I know I know, it’s been a while. I took October off so I could record a bunch of new videos for you to end the year off right. And here we go, the first on of the last 9 for 2014.

This week I am going to show you a tool that is so unique, that it’s awesomeness cannot be disputed. It’s the suspension trainer. Now I am a TRX Qualified Instructor, but the system I am going to use is something I bought from Walmart before using TRX. You can find a cheap suspension training system from Walmart for less $75. Not as cool as the TRX system, but will still get the job done.

This suspension training system is so cool for several reasons. One, it’s so easy to carry it with you anywhere because it’s light. Also, you can do a variety of cardio and strength exercises using just the trainer and your body. TRX’s motto is “Make Your Body Your Machine”, and suspension training will do just that!

Below you will find a basic suspension training workout that is going to be different from any other workout I’ve posted here before. Same exercises with a completely different feel. We are still using interval training so the time is still set to 45/15. You will repeat this circuit 5 times for a total of 30 minutes.

  1. Mountain climbers (core, cardio)
  2. Knee Crunch (core)
  3. Push Ups (chest, triceps, back)
  4. Bicep Curls (arms)
  5. Inverted Rows (arms, back)
  6. Squat Jumps (quads, glutes)

How do you feel? In 4 weeks I’ll be back to show you some more advanced suspension training exercises.

Question: What was your favorite workout this week?
